Study on amputations
Saving lives through surgery is not an exclusively human trait. In a new study, we showed that certain ants perform targeted amputations on the injured limbs of their nestmates. Publication in Current Biology.

Study on antibiotic care
Ants, like many animals, are often injured in fights with other species. In a new study we found that ants are able to detect infected wounds of their conspecifics and treating them with antibiotics. Publication in Nature Communications, December 29, 2023
